Impact of Dragon Fruit Waste in Microbial Fuel Cells to Generate Friendly Electric Energy
نویسندگان
چکیده
Pollution generated by the misuse of large amounts fruit and vegetable waste has become a major environmental social problem for developing countries due to absence specialized collection centers this type waste. This research aims generate electricity in an eco-friendly way using red dragon (pitahaya) as fuel single-chamber microbial cells on laboratory scale zinc copper electrodes. It was possible voltage current peaks 0.46 ± 0.03 V 2.86 0.07 mA, respectively, with optimum operating pH 4.22 0.09 electrical conductivity 175.86 4.72 mS/cm at 8 °Brix until tenth day monitoring. An internal resistance 75.58 5.89 ? also calculated maximum power density 304.33 16.51 mW/cm2 5.06 A/cm2, while FTIR spectra showed decrease initial compounds endings, especially 3331 cm?1 O–H bonds. Finally, yeast-like fungus Geotrichum candidum molecularly identified (99.59%). will provide great opportunities generation renewable energy biomass through electronic devices potential electricity.

متن کاملEnergy Harvesting from Agroindustrial Waste by Microbial Fuel Cell
This research aims is the agroindustrial wastewater treatment by an electrochemical device called Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC), which produces electricity while to metabolize the wastewater. The behavior of biofilme formed at reticulated carbon vitreous/Shewanella putrefaciens/vinasse solution interface as anode, was studied by electrochemical measurements. The polarization curves against the carb...
متن کاملMicrobial Fuel Cells in Waste Treatment: Recent Advances
The increasing awareness that there are limits to the availability of nonrenewable resources, as well as that there are limits to the biosphere’s ability to absorb wastes, are at the basis of the growing interest about Microbial Fuel Cells (MFCs) technology, with particular regards to their application to wastes treatment. MFCs, in fact, couple the direct electric power production to the degrad...
